Dear Member,
We hope you are enjoying the course this year. Conditions have been great even with all of the rain in the past couple of weeks. We ask that you please help us to maintain these conditions. If we all pitch in a little extra it will pay off in the long run.
An important part of the game is etiquette. Etiquette is more than not talking while someone is swinging or not walking in the line of your playing partners. Etiquette is caring for the golf course and respecting your surroundings.
Here are a few things that come up about the course. The more members we have on board the better the course becomes.
After hitting your shot from the bunker please rake all the areas you disturbed and any area that someone forgot to rake. Being considerate of the players behind you is a part of the game. Rakes should be placed outside of the bunkers out of the area of play.
Repairing ball marks helps to keep the greens rolling better. Please take the time to find your ball mark and repair it properly. Unrepaired ball marks will take 2 to 3 weeks to heal. While you are there, please fix any ball marks you may find.
Replacing Divots also helps the course heal quicker. Too often we are quick to fill the divot with mix and leave a chunk in the fairway. Please replace any divot that stays together. Replace it in the same direction and tamp it down with your foot so it is level with the area around you. When filling a divot with mix please do not over fill the hole. This causes areas to become uneven and may also cause scalping of the grass when it is cut. Fill the level of the divot to just below the surface of the grass and tamp down with your foot.
Please respect your surroundings. We have many people who live on the course and enjoy the beauty in their back yards. Please respect their view and refrain from using their back yard for a pit stop. There are restrooms on each nine and the club house at the turn. In emergency there are plenty of secluded spots outside of eyeshot of someone's deck or back window.
Thank you to all who help to make our club a better place.
